How to stay motivated in Winter

It's dark when you wake up, dark before dinner time and it's freezing! These aren't always conditions that make us want to go to the gym. Don't let December get in your way! Below are some tips for staying motivated during winter.

Schedule your workouts

If you plan something ahead you are ore likely to get it done. Have a plan for the day / week / month ahead and tick them off when you've completed them.

Don't overthink it... Just do it

Once you planned your workout do not allow yourself to overthink. Thinking "I could just do it later" often leads to not doing it at all. No overthinking = No excuses!

Just put your workout kit on, and go!

Be Flexible

Have a plan B! Did you plan to go for a run but it's cold, windy, and rainy all at the same time? Have a go at the above Ladder workout, and stay indoors instead!

Be Prepared

Dress to be comfortable. If you are working out outside, chances are you will be cold at first! If you're running / cycling then take a small backpack and when you've warmed up you can delayer and continue.

Make a new playlist

Music is a great motivator! Spend a little time making a playlist of songs you know you enjoy and energise you.

Always remember the feeling after a workout

You will have heard the phrase - I regret that workout, said no one ever! IT'S TRUE! After you complete your workout you will feel relaxed, happier, and healthier!

Make it a social

We motivate eachother! Ask a friend to join you for a walk / run / online class for some accountability and encouragement.

Still need motivation? Get in touch! I can help you :)

Enjoy your workout! xx
