Improve your posture to benefit your health

Having good posture doesn't only make you appear slimmer, taller, and more confident!


Good posture allows your internal organs to assume their natural position, as well as keeping your spine in proper alignment. This benefits your overall health and wellbeing as follows:


1. Improved breathing

2. Improved circulation

3. Improved digestion

4. Improved joint & muscular health


So... how do you actually improve your posture?! A balanced exercise plan will definitely help, as will massage.


However there are simple daily behaviors you can start right now!!


1. Change position once every couple of hours

If you usually sit the same way, or stand for long periods then change it up! Staying in the same position for too long can lead to poor posture, back, neck and shoulder pain.


2. Drink enough water

Yes this can help your posture! Good hydration is essential for muscle suppleness and disc hydration which help maintain good posture.

If you like the occasional coffee - bad news as this is a diuretic... if you can't cut back then try to refuel with a glass of water after each coffee.


3. Avoid too much sugar

Did you know that sugar can increase inflammation in the body? This leads to pain & may cause your posture to worsen.


4. Keep moving

Movement is key! The more you move the more you encourage healthy circulation and reduce the chance of getting stiff from sitting still too long.
